Dig World, Texas’ first construction-themed amusement park, opens in Katy this week

Dig World, the first heavy construction equipment-themed amusement park in Texas, opens Thursday in Katy. It was originally scheduled to open in fall 2021, but was pushed back due to weather and other project delays, founder Jacob Robinson said via email.
Sprawling over 3.5 acres next to the Katy Mills shopping center, the adventure park offers various courses for children and adults to safely operate real heavy construction equipment, including mini -full-size Caterpillar excavators, skid steer loaders and UTVs through a partnership with Mustang Cat.

Dig World opens Thursday in Katy. Here is an overview
Other attractions at Dig World include a gem mining station, a playground, and a grass field with games like cornhole and TowerBall. The park will also host group events, including company outings, birthday parties and field trips, according to a statement.
Texas A&M’s Building Science Department partners with Dig World to educate Texans about the construction industry.
“We wanted to create something kids and families could enjoy, creating the best and most unique consumer experience in Texas,” Robinson said.
But the park will also dig deeper with plans to build 10 more locations across the United States over the next few years.
The park operates on two-hour reservations, with online ticket purchases for a desired time slot. Book your ticket and time at
