Three iconic Ocean Park rides set to retire in September

Three iconic Ocean Park rides – The Abyss, Raging River and the Mine Train are set to retire in September.

The Abyss is currently open to the public, while Raging River and the Mine Train will open on July 10 with the reopening of Adventure Land, where they are located. Those who wish to try them again will have a chance until August 31.

The Mine Train, considered the most scenic roller coaster in the world, and The Abyss have been in operation for 20 years, while Raging River has been running for 37 years since 1984 and is one of Ocean Park’s oldest rides.

The park explained that their retirement will make way for other exciting experiences for the future development of the park.

The park also offers special packages that give visitors access not only to the park for one day, but also to exclusive concerts by eight local bands coming July 17 and 18.

Performers include pop music duo per se and indie rock band Nowhere Boys, as well as Carrier – a band fronted by social media personality Lung Siu-kwan.

These special packages, priced at HK$498 for just a regular admission ticket, will be on sale from tomorrow.
