The Forest of Tracers: Inside the new treetop adventure playground as it opens

Take a peek inside Raby Castle’s highly anticipated new playground, ahead of its opening this weekend.

Rising among the trees of the castle’s Christmas tree plantation, the Forest of Tracers playground offers an exciting mix of challenge, discovery and intrigue for its local visitors, including young and old. the younger ones.

Visitors can take in sweeping views of the park, discover soaring turrets and treetop tunnels in Tracers’ Spire, before sliding down slides and interacting with ground-level play that surrounds the structure.

We went to take a look inside the Conspiratorial Forest before it opened today – just in time for the Easter weekend.

Speaking of the motivation behind the project, Raby Estate owners Lord and Lady Barnard said: “Creating the Traceurs Forest has been a dream of ours for years and is inspired by our own experiences as a family when our own children were young. .

“We have taken particular care to ensure that the playground blends into the wooded area where it sits, using complementary textures, colors and sustainable materials. We believe that building a relationship with the outdoors inspires children to be resilient, curious and courageous – all qualities found in the plotters of Raby Castle’s past.

Plotters requiring a pit stop can refuel at the new catering kiosk, The Plotters’ Pantry, which serves hot and cold drinks to go, freshly made sandwiches, snacks, cakes and ice cream and overlooks the area toddler playground, which includes mini turrets, climbing equipment and blackboards.

The Forest of the Plotters will open to the public on Friday, April 15 and tickets are now on sale on the website HERE.

The cost is £8 for adults, £7.50 for children and £29 for a family ticket. A concession ticket is also available at £7.

The cost for Raby’s Castle, Tracers’ Park and Forest is £13 for adults, £10 for children and £45 for a family ticket. A concession ticket is also available at £12.
