Teenager shot dead at playground in Anne Arundel County, police say
SEVERN, Md. – A 15-year-old boy was injured Thursday afternoon in a shooting at an Anne Arundel County playground, police say.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, the shooting was reported around 12:50 p.m. Thursday in the 8100 block of Meade Village Circle in Severn.
Once at the scene, officers learned that a 15-year-old boy had been shot dead and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released any updates on the teenager’s condition.
Police believe four people in a dark SUV pulled up to the area and someone in that car fired into the playground, injuring the teenager.
Investigators said someone on the playground then fired back at the SUV before both parties fled the scene.
Investigators recovered several shell casings from the scene and found that several nearby buildings had been damaged by the gunfire.
Police believe the shooting was not a random incident and was aimed at someone in the playground.
