New Smithfield playground at The Family Place – Cache Valley Daily

SMITHFIELD — The Family Place Utah turns 40e year. On KVNU’s For the People show last week, Kid’s Place manager Krista Useche said they like to think of Kid’s Place as the heart of Family Place.

“Everything we do to strengthen families and protect children is at the heart of children,” she said.

Useche said she’s not sure if people realize The Kids Place is available for parents if they need a break or some time for themselves.

They serve children from 0 to 11 years old in the community and any parent can call on their services.

She said to just call the Kids Place and they can check on their kids if the parent(s) has to go to an appointment, get groceries, whatever.

“And we too… do a date night on Saturday nights from 5-9pm where parents can drop off their kids for four hours so they can go hang out together, without having to worry about paying for childcare.

Recently, the Family Place unveiled a new playground in Smithfield.

“Yes, everyone who drives down Main Street in Smithfield has seen our fabulous new Amelia Lou Magical Treehouse. It’s a playground for children to escape from the realities of life and just enjoy their imagination and play there.”

The new playground is at their Smithfield location at 502 S. Main Street.
