Amusement park drive-in near Billings is OPEN for another season
It’s true, you heard it right. After the Drive-In amusement park posted a status on its Facebook page last year saying it would be closed for the foreseeable future, it reopened to watch new movies under the stars in early April. . And, they seem to be moving full steam ahead.
An uncertain future due to COVID-19
At the height of the pandemic, no one could go out with friends to watch a movie at the cinema. For this reason, many movie studios decided to release their movies on streaming services rather than in theaters to allow people who wanted to see the movies to watch them at launch. However, that kills a small theater like the amusement park Drive-In, because they don’t make a lot of money from their ticket sales.
After this post was published in July last year, many thought Drive-In was done for good; the only drive-in theater in the Billings area was hugely popular, and many were saddened by the closure. However, all this time the staff were not selling the property and working hard to try to reopen in 2022.
Pop in for new movies from your car
Despite all these difficulties, the amusement park’s Drive-In has opened again for the 2022 season, but with only one screen. They do screenings of new movies on Fridays and Saturdays at sunset. They also announced “free Wednesdays” from the middle of this month.
The season opening weekend began on April 1 and 2 with a screening of Unexplored with Tom Holland. The Amusement Park Drive-In Facebook page highlights new movies and their release. You can also find their ticket prices on their page. Have fun this summer watching awesome movies under the stars.
