A military-style amusement park with TANKS YOU CAN DRIVE is officially coming to Orlando | Discover Florida
As if Orlando wasn’t already exciting enough with Disney, Universal and the many theme parks in between, there’s a new one coming to town and it’s a little less kid-friendly. Tank America announced in July that it would be moving its operations from Melbourne, Florida to Orlando, and we just learned that they are finally taking bookings this Thursday, October 27, 2022.
“It’s OFFICIAL We are finally moving to #Orlando The first load left our #melbourneflorida location this afternoon. #spacecoast have been great with us, and that’s why we are able to make this move to #orlandoflorida,” their initial July Play Instagram announcement.
Tank America gained notoriety for its unusual thrill offerings; instead of the usual roller coasters and slingshots, they offer tanks that visitors can drive around and smash cars with!
As expected, this might not be your typical amusement park for kids. According to the Tank America website, drivers must be at least 16 years old and passengers must be over 55 inches tall.
“Tank America is located in scenic Orlando, just minutes from Disney, Universal and the airport. This adventure theme park is set on 14 acres of lush grounds with lots of jungle terrain and rolling trails through The topography features a 1/2 mile course that climbs hills, traverses mud holes, twists around hairpin bends, and traverses straights. Tank America puts you right in the middle of the action and straight in the driver’s seat as you cruise through the landscape in an adrenaline-fuelled FV433 Abbot military tank as you destroy everything in your path,” their “About” section reads.
