Clr. Baird called the situation shocking and urged anyone with information about those responsible to contact authorities.

When briefed on the situation over the weekend, Cllr. Baird said she would act immediately and do her best to have the tires removed.

She said: “It was a completely illegal act and those responsible should realize that they broke the law.

“They need to know that the toxic fumes from those tires can cause cancer and that there are a lot of children in the neighboring housing estate, that’s all the more reprehensible.”
